Also, people still seem to be confusing these pvp bots for computers that play the entire game for you. In this case, they are not. All this is is a program that recognizes the pixel changes in a particular skill and reacts for the player automatically by using one of the interrupt skills on your bar. You still play through the match otherwise.

Actually they read packets, its not a pixel bot. Which means that you don't have to select anyone at all to get the interrupts going.

I completely agree that in principle it is possible to program a PvP interrupt bot. I agree that such is reprehensible. I used to play GvG ATs, and I'll be the first to say that I'd be irritated if my BSurge on spike had been perma-PBlocked by a bot.
That said, I have a hard time seeing how dictating the interrupt bot's positioning makes you a "player". If that were the case, I and my laggy connection would be a great Mesmer. But that isn''t how it works for a reason.

I can't help but speculate whether swifter action would be taken if actual cash prizes were still being awarded.

Am I the only one that finds this funny?
GW has a TON of security problems and one of the problems (that I would label a "security problem") is that the game is too easy to bot. The fact that PvP players are just now doing something rash to bring it to Anet's attention doesn't mean that these same PvP interrupt bots (and others) haven't existed in the game for a while.
They're doing this out of desperation. I just hope that Anet actually gets the message.

I think this thread is hilarious. I'm being informed that the bots themselves have been around for a long time, but if more people know about them they might as well scrap PvP too. Shame, only good part of the game, lawlz.
edit: I wonder when people are gonna start making cancel-bots? lawlz, cancel if mesmer is casting pblock on you! lololol
also, if you want to see the teamquitter thread just type "site:www.teamquitter.com bot" into google, without the quotes. But anyone who isn't internet retarded already knew that, amirite?

Hello. Please do not continue the RBR/Snowball bot discussion here. That thread got locked for a reason.
Also, right now it is pretty obvious where it can be found, the only thing that was removed was the direct link to the thread. If we really wanted to "ostrich the problem", we would've deleted it. PM me if you want to discuss this.

The site does not support the use of bots or anything the violates the End User Licensing Agreement you sign when you install Guild Wars. Linking to a site that promotes the use of a bot like the thread that was deleted basically condones the action of using a bot.
We don't allow it because ANet doesn't allow it.
If you want to call names, that's an entirely different matter that can be taken care of very quickly.

They won't. They're too busy ruining Aion at the moment.

ANet has nothing to do with Aion. NCSoft has little to do with Guild Wars(they finance it, provide servers and support).

My point was that there's still a human behind that bot. It doesn't make it any less deplorable, I was just clearing things up.
Also, teamquitter was not promoting the use of bots. Some of the more hardcore players in the game use the qq forums, and they more than anybody don't want to see the widespread use of bots. The thread was more to make people aware that it is entirely possible to make an interrupt bot, as was speculated at length previously with certain players in the last mat.

As far as I'm concerned PvP has lost it's credibility. Don't know who the cheaters are and who isn't. We will never know. No one will. To think we PvE'ers went through so much bullshit because Anet was trying to balance PvP.

Wut?
You think PvE'ers get the shaft based on PvP'ers? Lol, you obviously don't play PvP much. I've done a lot of both, and trust me...over the years...PvP has gotten the short-end of that stick more often.
Oh, and bots were in PvE looooong before PvP. (Sorry to turn this into that kind of an argument. But just trying to set it straight.)

Who cares if PvE had cheaters first. There is less at stake compared to PvP.

Yeah, it's happened quite often in the past.

I'd love to see some evidence to back up that statement. Most of the updates i've seen concern fixes for gvg/ha or meta shake-ups, and pvers had to deal with the changes.
OT
I'm not sure posting here is going to do much- most people here know botting is/has been a problem. If you want exposure, I'd reccomend trying to inform people ingame. As for a solution, I think Anet doesn't have a big enough team to sucessfully juggle the bot problem with all the other things it has to deal with.

Problem is they make a pvp character that they delete after every match now.
They said they push .dll into the guildwars file... what does that mean?

When a .dll and Guild Wars love each other very much, the .dll injects itself into Guild Wars, and that's how lots of little baby bots are born.
